The remains of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo have arrived in Arochukwu, Abia State, ahead of his final burial ceremonies scheduled for June 18.
The body was received by family members, friends, and colleagues, including fellow actor IK Ogbonna, as preparations for the burial entered the final stage.
Ekubo, who passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 after a prolonged illness, was remembered during a service of songs held in Lagos on June 10, attended by celebrities, clerics, and admirers from across the country.
According to the burial programme released by the family, a wake-keep will hold on June 17 at the family residence in Ujari Village, Arochukwu, while the funeral service and interment are scheduled for June 18. A reception for guests will follow immediately after the burial.
The actor’s death has continued to draw tributes from across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with fans and colleagues celebrating his contributions to Nollywood and the legacy he leaves behind.
