The African Democratic Congress (ADC), South-East Zone, has distanced the people of the South-East from the recent endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term by some governors of the region.

In a statement issued by the party’s South-East National Vice Chairman, Sir Bon Unachukwu, the ADC described the endorsement as a personal political decision that does not reflect the collective position or aspirations of Ndi Igbo.

The party argued that the endorsement was premature and insensitive to the economic challenges facing Nigerians, including rising inflation, unemployment, insecurity, and the high cost of living.

ADC further expressed dissatisfaction with the level of federal presence in the South-East, citing concerns over infrastructure deficits, limited federal appointments, and insufficient economic investments in the region.

According to the party, the endorsement does not represent the views of millions of Nigerians who are demanding improved governance, economic recovery, and enhanced security across the country.

The ADC maintained that electoral decisions in 2027 would ultimately be determined by the performance of political leaders and the will of the people, rather than political endorsements.

The party also reiterated its commitment to offering Nigerians an alternative platform built on accountability, inclusiveness, competence, and economic development.
