FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump will attend the FIFA World Cup final and take part in the trophy presentation ceremony.

Speaking to FOX Sports, Infantino revealed that he and Trump will jointly participate in the post-match celebrations, with the American leader set to hand the trophy to the tournament winners.

“We will be together with the President, enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner,” said Gianni Infantino.

The announcement confirms Trump’s involvement in one of the biggest sporting events in the world and highlights the close cooperation between FIFA and the United States as the country hosts the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico.

Trump’s attendance is expected to draw significant global attention, with the World Cup final already set to be watched by hundreds of millions of fans worldwide. His role in presenting the trophy follows a long-standing tradition of political leaders and dignitaries taking part in major FIFA ceremonies.

The 2026 tournament marks the first World Cup to feature 48 teams and is the largest edition in the competition’s history. FIFA officials have repeatedly emphasized the importance of government support in delivering a successful tournament across the three host nations.

With Trump’s attendance now confirmed, the World Cup final is set to combine football’s biggest stage with a significant political presence as the champions receive the sport’s most coveted prize.
