At least one person has been confirmed dead and two others rescued from a collapsed three-story building along Odili road in Port Harcourt city local government area of Rivers State.
Confirming the incident, the Permanent Secretary Designate of the Rivers State Ministry of Health, Dr. Vincent Wachuku, said the ministry swiftly deployed ambulances and medical personnel to the scene after receiving reports of the collapse.
Dr. Wachuku, also noted that two severely injured victims were rescued and taken to the Rivers State Teaching Hospital for treatment, explained that emergency response teams were activated at the hospital to receive and manage victims from the incident.

Permanent Secretary Designate added that personnel from the National Emergency Management Agency, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, and other emergency units were also on ground to coordinate rescue operations.
Information at the time of this report indicates that some individuals were trapped beneath the debris.
