The presidential flag bearer of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general election, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has returned to Nigeria after a brief trip abroad, marking his return as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the next election cycle.

Atiku’s arrival comes at a time when the ADC is intensifying consultations and engagement with party stakeholders across the country following his emergence as the party’s presidential candidate. Party supporters and political associates welcomed his return, expressing optimism about the next phase of the campaign.

Although details of his trip were not immediately disclosed, his return is expected to pave the way for a series of strategic meetings with party leaders, coalition partners, and supporters as preparations for the 2027 presidential election continue.

Political observers say Atiku’s presence in the country is likely to reinvigorate the ADC’s nationwide mobilisation efforts, with expectations that the former vice president will outline the party’s vision and next steps in the coming days.
