A non-governmental organisation, Hope Rising for Imolites Foundation, in partnership with Pato-Binto Entrepreneurial and Skills Acquisition Company, Abuja, has launched a two-week skills acquisition programme for 300 beneficiaries drawn from the 27 local government areas of Imo State.
Speaking at the flag-off in Aboh Mbaise, the Foundation’s founder, Chief Obioma Success Akagburuonye, said the initiative is aimed at promoting self-reliance, reducing hardship, and creating sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship and vocational training.
He urged participants to take advantage of the programme by acquiring practical skills that would enable them to establish businesses and eventually train others.
The training covers makeup artistry, event decoration, catering and pastry production, household chemical production, paint manufacturing, as well as entrepreneurship and business management.
Project Director of Pato-Binto Entrepreneurial and Skills Acquisition Company, Muhammed Saheeb, said the programme is designed to equip youths and women with marketable skills, empowering them to become job creators rather than job seekers.
