Former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, has been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, over allegations of certificate forgery.
Nnaji was reportedly apprehended on Wednesday shortly after landing in Abuja from Enugu aboard a chartered flight, according to airport sources.
His arrest comes weeks after a Federal High Court in Abuja granted the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) permission to arrest him and officially declare him wanted.
The court also authorised the anti-corruption agency to circulate his wanted status through national newspapers, social media platforms, and other media channels.
According to court filings, the ICPC approached the court for an ex parte order after the former minister allegedly failed to respond to several invitations for questioning over the forgery allegations.
The commission reportedly told the court that repeated attempts to secure his appearance for investigation proved unsuccessful, prompting the agency to seek judicial approval for his arrest and public declaration as a wanted person.
Nnaji was eventually arrested upon his arrival at the Abuja airport and is expected to be handed over to the ICPC for further interrogation as investigations continue.
