Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has renewed her call for Nigerians to embrace home gardening after recording another bountiful harvest from the State house vegetable garden in Abuja.
The garden, established about two years ago under the #EveryHomeAGarden initiative, is part of efforts to promote food security, healthy living and environmental sustainability across the country.
Displaying fresh produce, including spinach, waterleaf and fluted pumpkin, the First Lady described home gardening as a cost-effective way to ensure access to nutritious food while contributing to climate change mitigation.
She also encouraged Nigerians to cultivate the spirit of generosity by sharing with others, as she distributed part of the day’s harvest to members of her staff.
