Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has aroused conversation online after making controversial remarks about the entertainment industry, describing it as a platform that promotes self-glorification rather than the values of God.

Speaking during an appearance on the Joey Akan Podcast, the actor argued that the entertainment world has become one of the strongest influences on society, but not in a way that reflects godly principles.

“There is no bigger enabler than entertainment. This is where d£mons live,” he said.

Expanding on his views, Iyke claimed that the industry’s foundation and value system are largely at odds with Christianity, insisting that many of the ideals celebrated in entertainment align more with what he described as S@tanism than with the teachings of God.

“Entertainment is totally orchestrated and created to extol the virtues of S@tanism. What in entertainment glorifies God, except you intentionally or consciously go for Him, or pursue Him, or find your place with Him?” Iyke stated.

Questioning the moral values promoted by the industry, the actor asked, “What do we extol that’s godly?”

Despite his criticism, Iyke acknowledged that individuals can still intentionally pursue God and use their creative platforms to honour Him, stressing that doing so requires a conscious personal decision rather than simply following the culture of the entertainment industry.

His comments have since ignited intense debate on social media, with many Nigerians divided over his assessment of the entertainment world and the values it promotes.
