No fewer than nine members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra State will repeat their one-year mandatory national service after absconding from the scheme.

The Anambra State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, disclosed this on Thursday during the presentation of Certificates of National Service to successful corps members at the Ihiala Local Government Council Secretariat.

Mrs. Ojisua revealed that 933 corps members of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I successfully completed the mandatory service year and were formally discharged. She also announced that five corps members secured permanent employment with their places of primary assignment.

The certificate presentation ceremony was held simultaneously across the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State.

Congratulating the discharged corps members, the coordinator urged them to remain good ambassadors of the NYSC Scheme and Nigeria by upholding the values of discipline, patriotism and integrity.

She encouraged the graduates to leverage the entrepreneurial and vocational skills acquired through the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to become self-reliant instead of depending solely on white-collar jobs.

Mrs. Ojisua also advised them to engage in productive ventures capable of creating sustainable livelihoods and contributing to national development.

She further encouraged the discharged corps members to join the NYSC Foundation to maintain their relationship with the scheme and continue supporting its objectives, while wishing them safe travels and success as they begin a new chapter of their lives.
