The Aguata contingent has successfully concluded its participation at the Pan-African Innovation Boot Camp in Kigali, Rwanda, earning commendation from facilitators for its outstanding performance and rapid mastery of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.

The Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, announced the development, expressing delight over the team’s achievements at the international programme.

As part of the closing activities, the participants presented their final research projects, with facilitators applauding their creativity, innovation and ability to quickly grasp AI technologies and their practical applications.

The Aguata champions also received a visit from the Nigerian High Commission in Rwanda. The delegation, led by the Head of Political, Information and Culture, Zerah Waminaje, represented the Nigerian High Commissioner to Rwanda, Ambassador Ibrahim Zanna, and commended the students for representing Nigeria with distinction.

Reacting to the successful outing, Dr. Ofobuike expressed confidence that the participants would return home better equipped to contribute to technological innovation and leadership, describing them as future innovators capable of driving sustainable development.

He noted that the boot camp aligns with the local government’s commitment to investing in youth development, innovation and digital skills through initiatives such as the Aguata Best Student Challenge.

The Mayor congratulated the students on their remarkable achievement and wished them continued success as they prepare to return to Nigeria.
