The Eastern Bar Forum (EBF), the umbrella body of lawyers from the defunct Eastern Region, has commended the infrastructural development of the Imo State Government, describing the projects executed under Governor Hope Uzodimma as “real, visible and verifiable.”

The endorsement came after delegates of the forum undertook an inspection tour of major infrastructure projects during the 2026 Quarterly Meeting and Convention of the Eastern Bar Forum held in Owerri.

The convention brought together senior advocates, judges, jurists and legal practitioners from Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.

The inspection team, led by the Governor of the Eastern Bar Forum, Barrister D.O. Nosike, was received by the Imo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Paul Obinatu, alongside officials of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure Development.

Projects inspected included the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Convention Centre, Control Post Flyover, reconstructed roads within Owerri Municipality, the Orashi Power Distribution Company, the refurbished Concord Hotel and the Imo Digital City Hub.

Speaking after the tour, members of the forum said the projects exceeded their expectations, noting that they represent tangible evidence of purposeful leadership and quality execution.

The forum stated that the inspection dispelled doubts about the achievements of the Uzodimma administration, adding that the projects demonstrate the government’s commitment to positioning Imo State as a hub for investment, commerce and innovation.

The lawyers particularly described the Orashi Power Distribution Company as a transformative investment capable of improving electricity supply and accelerating industrial growth in the state.

They also hailed the Imo Digital City as a strategic legacy project designed to equip young people with digital and technology-driven skills, including software development, robotics, website design, computer engineering and digital entrepreneurship.

The forum further applauded the administration for the delivery of major road infrastructure, including the Owerri–Orlu Expressway, Owerri–Onitsha Highway, Owerri–Okigwe Road, Owerri–Mbaise Road, Owerri–Port Harcourt Highway, as well as several internal roads across the state.

The Eastern Bar Forum concluded the inspection by passing a vote of confidence in Governor Hope Uzodimma’s leadership, describing his administration’s infrastructure drive as a significant contribution to the state’s socio-economic development.
