The Abia State Police Command has arrested four suspected drug peddlers during a targeted operation in Osisioma Local Government Area, recovering suspected hard drugs and freshly harvested cannabis.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, operatives of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit acted on credible intelligence on July 16, 2026, leading to the arrest of the suspects, who are residents of Osisioma.
The suspects were identified as David Chika Nwakamma, 50, Stanley Moses, also known as “Rati Boy,” 33, Ibe Chisom, 29, and Austin GodsWill, 27.
Police said quantities of suspected hard drugs packaged for distribution, as well as freshly harvested cannabis and other suspected illicit substances, were recovered during the operation.
The Command noted that investigations are ongoing and reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug-related crimes across the state.
It also urged residents to support law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities through the nearest police station or the Command’s emergency hotlines, stressing that there will be no hiding place for criminals in Abia State.
