Transcorp Power PLC has reported a profit before tax of ₦54.99 billion for the first half of 2026, despite operational challenges caused by recurring vandalism of transmission infrastructure.
The company, a power generation subsidiary of Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp Group), announced its unaudited financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, saying the performance reflected the resilience of its operations amid persistent sector-wide challenges.
Revenue declined to ₦181.97 billion from ₦205.81 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025, while profit before tax fell from ₦58.73 billion to ₦54.99 billion.
However, the company’s balance sheet remained strong, with total assets rising by 9.9 per cent to ₦619.02 billion from ₦563.48 billion at the end of the 2025 financial year.
Shareholders’ funds also increased by 3.2 per cent to ₦189.34 billion from ₦183.40 billion, while retained earnings grew by 6.4 per cent to ₦140.90 billion from ₦132.41 billion.
