NBA icon LeBron James has committed his future to the Philadelphia 76ers after agreeing to a two-year contract worth $8 million ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 41-year-old joins the Sixers after ending his eight-year spell with the Los Angeles Lakers, with the deal reportedly including a player option for the second year.
James said his decision was driven by his ambition to compete for another NBA championship, as he links up with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Jaylen Brown in Philadelphia. The four-time NBA champion believes he can help the franchise end its long wait for another title as he prepares for what he has described as the final chapter of his illustrious career.
