The Mayor of Nnewi South Local Government Area, Hon. Van George Ezeogidi, has inspected the ongoing reconstruction of the Ukpor Modern Market and Modern Park as part of efforts to ensure the timely delivery of key infrastructure projects in the area.
During the inspection, the mayor assessed the pace and quality of work, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to providing modern infrastructure that will improve the welfare of residents and stimulate economic growth.
Hon. Ezeogidi said the projects are being closely monitored to ensure they are completed according to schedule and meet the required standards.
He described the modern market and park as strategic investments designed to enhance commercial activities, improve transportation services and provide a more conducive environment for traders, commuters and other road users.
The mayor noted that the projects align with the infrastructure development agenda of the Anambra State Government under Governor Chukwuma Soludo and are expected to contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of Ukpor and the wider Nnewi South Local Government Area.
Upon completion, the facilities are expected to boost local commerce, improve access to modern trading spaces and strengthen economic activities within the community.
