The Executive Chairman, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Council ,Rt. Hon. Asuakak Umoh, has lauded Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, over his Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses initiative, stressing that it will ease transportation stress for workers across the state, including those in Ibiono Ibom.

The council boss said this during the General Staff Meeting held to welcome the new Head of Local Government Service for Ibiono Ibom, Mrs Roseline Inyang Dan-Abia.

He expressed optimism that once the bus services commence, workers will pay lower transport fares to work, which would, in turn, improve punctuality and daily attendance.

The Executive Chairman disclosed that the CNG buses will be allocated to all 31 Local Government Areas across the state.

In their separate speeches, the Dean of Directors, Comrade Asukwo Okon, and the NULGE Chairperson, Ikopima Phillips, pledged the workers’ continued support for the council chairman and the administrative authorities.

Responding, the new Head of Service, Mrs Roseline Inyang Dan-Abia, stated her commitment and readiness to work to ensure effective service delivery.

So far, the Akwa Ibom State Government has received 30 CNG buses, out of the 50 buses yet to be received.
