The Publisher of 9News Nigeria, Mr. Obinna Ejianya, has called on Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, to prioritise the revitalisation of strategic public institutions in Awka North, particularly the Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu.
In an open letter titled “Consolidate on the achievements of your predecessors and urgently revive strategic institutions in Awka North, particularly Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu,” Ejianya appealed to the governor to strengthen existing public investments rather than abandon projects initiated by previous administrations.
He urged the state government to fully revive the polytechnic by addressing outstanding accreditation requirements, improving funding, upgrading infrastructure, and increasing staffing to enable the institution to operate at full capacity.
Ejianya also called for the restoration and modernisation of Purity FM, Mgbakwu, describing the station as an important public communication platform that should be repositioned to serve residents of the Awka Capital Territory.
According to him, governance should be built on continuity, stressing that successive administrations should consolidate on the achievements of their predecessors for the overall development of the state.
While acknowledging the developmental strides recorded under Governor Soludo’s administration, the publisher expressed concern that several strategic institutions established by previous governments, particularly in Awka North, have not received adequate attention.
He identified communities including Mgbakwu, Achalla, Amanuke, Urum, Isu Aniocha, Okpuno, and other parts of Awka North as areas requiring greater government intervention.
Ejianya maintained that residents of the area were not seeking preferential treatment but were calling for the revitalisation of public institutions and the fulfilment of development promises aimed at promoting balanced growth across Anambra State.
He expressed confidence in Governor Soludo’s leadership and appealed to the administration to act on the recommendations to strengthen education, public communication, and infrastructure development in the area.
