The management of Lekki Port, promoters of Lekki Deep Seaport, has restated its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security, operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

The Managing Director of Lekki Port, Wang Qiang, stated this when he welcomed the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brigadier General Mohamed Marwa (Rtd.), to the port on a familiarisation visit aimed at strengthening collaboration in securing Nigeria’s maritime gateway and combating illicit drug trafficking through the nation’s ports recently, according to a recent statement obtained.

During the visit, Qiang commended the NDLEA for its proactive efforts to curb illicit drug trafficking across Nigeria’s borders while facilitating the smooth movement of legitimate cargo, describing security as a key pillar of port operation.

Qiang explained that the port’s modern infrastructure, deep draught and technology-driven operations, combined with effective collaboration with government agencies, “position the port to deliver world-class services that support Nigeria’s economic development and strengthen its competitiveness in regional and global trade.”

“We are honoured to receive the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA at Lekki Port. His visit reflects the importance of close collaboration between port operators and security agencies in safeguarding our maritime gateway while facilitating legitimate trade. At Lekki Port, we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of security, operational excellence and regulatory compliance,” Qiang said.
