Port Harcourt, Nigeria – Rivers United Football Club has been ranked as the most valuable club in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), further cementing its reputation as one of the country’s leading football institutions.
According to the latest squad market valuations published by Transfermarkt, Rivers United lead the NPFL with a total squad value of €2.18 million, making the Pride of Rivers the highest-valued club in Nigeria’s top flight.
The Port Harcourt-based side narrowly edged reigning league champions Rangers, whose squad is valued at €2.16 million. Ikorodu City, Remo Stars, Shooting Stars, Bendel Insurance, Barau FC, Plateau United, Enyimba and Abia Warriors complete the top ten rankings.
A standout feature of Rivers United’s achievement is that the club reached the top of the valuation rankings with only 34 registered players—the smallest squad among the ten most valuable NPFL clubs. The team also boasts the highest average player valuation in the league at €64,000, reflecting the quality and depth of the squad under the leadership of the club’s management, led by Chief Dr. Okey Kpalukwu.
The latest rankings are a reflection of Rivers United’s sustained progress in recent seasons.
