The victory came in Chelsea’s fourth match of their pre-season tour, with head coach Xabi Alonso’s side controlling much of the contest at the GBK Stadium in front of 40,856 spectators, a post match report on the club website disclosed this.

Joao Pedro opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time when he met Caicedo’s corner and glanced a header beyond Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani.

The Brazilian doubled Chelsea’s advantage moments after the restart, with Pedro Neto providing the assist. Neto shifted the ball onto his left foot before delivering a cross to the back post, where Joao Pedro escaped his marker and guided the ball into the net.
