Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), has suspended Professor Nnamdi Nwaeze of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, over social media posts allegedly considered inimical to the interests of the institution.
The university management said the suspension followed concerns over various posts attributed to the professor, which it described as uncomplimentary to the Visitor of the University, Governor Alex Otti.
In response to the development, the management has constituted an Investigative Panel to examine the matter and determine the circumstances surrounding the posts.
The suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in force pending the outcome of the panel’s investigation.
