Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has dragged President Bola Tinubu before the Federal High Court in Abuja over an alleged forgery of his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate.

Atiku, in the suit filed on Friday, is seeking an order disqualifying Tinubu from contesting the 2027 presidential election.

The former vice-president is challenging Tinubu’s eligibility on the grounds of alleged forgery of the NYSC certificate.

The suit, filed in Abuja, comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with Atiku emerging as the ADC candidate and Tinubu expected to seek re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku’s legal action seeks to place the alleged NYSC certificate controversy before the court and ultimately prevent Tinubu from participating in the 2027 presidential race.

Further details of the suit and the specific reliefs being sought were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.
