The Imole Campaign Council of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to explain the alleged presence of the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Ebonyi State, Pauline Ugoyenka, in Osun ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The campaign council expressed concern that Ugoyenka’s name was reportedly not included among the RECs officially deployed to supervise the August 15 election in the state.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of its Media and Publicity Committee, Hon. Bamidele Salam, the council said an INEC letter dated August 3, 2026, listed 15 states contributing supervisory personnel for the election, but Ebonyi State was not among them.

The council therefore questioned the authority under which the Ebonyi REC was allegedly in Osun and called on INEC to provide a clear explanation.

It asked the electoral commission to publish the complete list of officials deployed for the election to eliminate concerns and ensure transparency.

The campaign council also raised questions over alleged electoral materials that were not properly customised for the Osun governorship election.

It specifically demanded clarification on the production and verification of ballot papers and result sheets, insisting that only materials specifically produced and verified for the election should be used.

The council warned that it would not accept any arrangement capable of undermining the transparency and credibility of the poll.

It urged INEC to address the concerns before election day and ensure that all personnel and electoral materials deployed to Osun have clear and verifiable authorisation.

The council’s demands come ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, with INEC expected to clarify the deployment of electoral officials and materials in the interest of a credible poll.
