Youths in Onne community, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, have reportedly raided several locations identified as suspected shrines, in an effort to put an end to what they described as alleged ritual and occult activities in the community.
The youths reportedly visited the shrine of a woman identified as Ezewanyi, whom they accused of engaging in traditional ritual practices over several years.
They also reportedly visited other locations believed to be shrines within the community.
The youths said the action was motivated by their determination to stop activities they believe could pose a threat to residents and negatively affect the community.
They vowed to continue their efforts to identify and shut down locations allegedly being used for harmful or occult-related practices.
However, the allegations against the individuals and locations involved have not been independently verified, and there was no immediate confirmation from the accused parties or relevant authorities regarding the claims.
The development has drawn attention to growing concerns over alleged ritual activities in some communities, with calls for authorities and community leaders to investigate such claims and ensure that any action taken is carried out within the law.
