Three Crowns Milk, the dairy brand of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting women’s health, wellbeing and economic empowerment through its participation in the 2026 August Meeting in Owerri, Imo State.

The annual August Meeting, one of the major cultural gatherings in the South-East, brings together women from different communities and parts of the world for homecoming, networking, community development and empowerment.

At this year’s event, Three Crowns Milk engaged participants through health and dairy education, interactive activities, games, product sampling and other activities designed to celebrate mothers and promote healthier lifestyles.

A major highlight of the event was the brand’s empowerment initiative, where women received education on health, finance and agriculture, while 30 underserved women were presented with equipment to support the start-up of their businesses.

The activation was held at the Umuorii Field of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Umuorii, and attracted women from Umualum, Umuorii, Umuoba, Okwu, Owalla, Owaelu, Umunahu, Orji, Amakohia and Akwakuma communities.

The event was attended by the First Lady of Imo State, Mrs Chioma Uzodimma, who was represented by Mrs Nduka Ijeoma, wife of the Managing Director of the Anambra/Imo River Basin Development Authority.

Popular Nollywood actress and influencer, Ebelle Okaro, also attended the celebration, adding entertainment and inspiration to the gathering.

Speaking at the event, the Marketing Director of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, Maureen Ifada, said the company remained committed to supporting women because their wellbeing directly impacts families and communities.

She said the August Meeting provided an opportunity for the brand to connect with women at the intersection of culture, community and wellness.

Also speaking, the Marketing Manager of Three Crowns Milk, Chioma Otisi-Igwe, said supporting mothers should go beyond nutrition to include creating opportunities that enable them to become economically empowered.

The company said the initiative forms part of its broader commitment to healthier living, women’s empowerment and stronger communities.
