FIFA has confirmed a series of international suspensions following the post-match clash between Argentina and Spain, with Leandro Paredes receiving the heaviest punishment.

Paredes has been handed a 10-match suspension and $90,000 fine, while Argentina teammate Nahuel Molina receives a seven-game ban and the same fine.

Argentina’s Thiago Almada gets a one-match suspension and $30,000 fine, while assistant coach Roberto Ayala has been banned for three matches and fined $30,000.

Spain midfielder Gavi has also received a one-game suspension and $30,000 fine.

The sanctions apply specifically to national-team matches, meaning the players will remain available for their clubs.

The lengthy bans for Paredes and Molina are the biggest talking points, with Argentina now facing the challenge of managing their squad without two key players during upcoming international fixtures.
