Stanbic IBTC has partnered with the Anambra State Government to host the Nigeria Business Summit Regional Tour in Onitsha, bringing together key stakeholders to explore practical strategies for sustainable business growth and increased participation in local and international trade.

The summit, organised in collaboration with the Anambra State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, attracted government officials, business leaders, trade associations, entrepreneurs and development partners.

The event focused on providing businesses with practical solutions, access to relevant networks and knowledge needed to navigate the changing business environment and achieve sustainable growth.

Speaking at the summit, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu, stressed the importance of stronger collaboration between government, financial institutions and the private sector.

Ebonwu said sustainable economic development required partnerships that would create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, create jobs and contribute to the state’s economic growth.

He noted that financial institutions such as Stanbic IBTC had an important role beyond providing credit, including business advisory services, capacity building and access to knowledge that could help enterprises grow sustainably.

The commissioner reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting businesses and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to expand their operations.

Also speaking, the Executive Director, Business and Commercial Banking, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Remy Osuagwu, said the bank remained committed to helping Nigerian businesses overcome challenges and compete effectively in an evolving marketplace.

Osuagwu said platforms such as the Nigeria Business Summit Regional Tour were designed to connect entrepreneurs with relevant knowledge, business networks and financial solutions required to scale their operations.

He said Stanbic IBTC would continue to strengthen strategic partnerships that support businesses and contribute to broader economic development.

The summit provided an avenue for entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to exchange ideas, identify opportunities and discuss practical measures for improving business sustainability and access to markets.

The partnership between Stanbic IBTC and the Anambra State Government is expected to further strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors while supporting the growth of businesses in the state and beyond.
