The Abia State Police Command and the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, have renewed their commitment to stronger collaboration in information sharing, capacity building and security operations across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, made this known on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the Abia State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The visit was aimed at deepening cooperation between both security agencies and securing the participation of the Correctional Service in the Police Command’s forthcoming capacity-building training programme.
Afolabi stressed the importance of synergy among security agencies, noting that effective collaboration and timely information sharing are essential to sustaining peace and security in Abia State.
Receiving the Police Commissioner, the Controller of Corrections in Abia State, Blessing Ifeoma Nwanyanwu, alongside senior officers, expressed the Service’s readiness to strengthen its partnership with the Police Command.
Nwanyanwu assured the Commissioner of enhanced information sharing and confirmed the Correctional Service’s participation in the planned training programme.
She also commended the Police Command for its continued support and cooperation with the Correctional Service, calling for the partnership to be sustained.
Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to exploring additional areas of cooperation to strengthen security and improve service delivery across Abia State.
