Eight corps members of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 have been directed to repeat their National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, service year in Anambra State for allegedly absconding from service.

Four other corps members were sanctioned with extensions for violating the rules and regulations of the NYSC scheme.

The NYSC State Coordinator in Anambra, Mrs Pauline Ojisua, disclosed this during the low-key Passing-Out Ceremony held across the various Local Government Areas of the state.

Ojisua said the four corps members were given service extensions of 106, 104, 66 and 100 days respectively, in line with NYSC rules and regulations.

Meanwhile, 1,078 corps members successfully completed their mandatory one-year national service in the state.

The outgoing corps members comprised 395 males and 687 females.

The State Coordinator congratulated the corps members on completing their service and urged them to remain worthy ambassadors of the NYSC scheme wherever they find themselves.

The major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of Certificates of National Service to deserving corps members.

Ojisua presented certificates to some of the outgoing corps members in Awka South Local Government Area as the state joined other parts of the country in marking the passing-out ceremony.
