Wealthy British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer, Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, popularly known as Denisi or Ego, has died at the age of 43 following complications from a penis-enlargement procedure during a luxury trip to Thailand with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen.
Evidence presented at an inquest at the Inner West London Coroners’ Court revealed that Ubiribo underwent the procedure at an unnamed clinic in Thailand in March, where he reportedly received 40ml of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine injections.
The procedure was later linked to a fatal pulmonary embolism.
After leaving the clinic, Ubiribo and his wife reportedly returned to their Marriott hotel in Bangkok for a massage. He later complained of chest pain and reportedly collapsed twice before he was rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital.
Although he was initially conscious, his condition reportedly worsened, and he lost consciousness before doctors could carry out a recommended CT scan.
He was subsequently diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism and transferred to the intensive care unit, where medical personnel reportedly performed CPR for more than 100 minutes.
Ubiribo was pronounced dead in the early hours of March 6.
A postmortem examination conducted in the United Kingdom later found cellular material in his lungs matching the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.
Coroner Jean Harkin concluded that the procedure caused the pulmonary embolism that ultimately led to his death.
