The Yoruba Leaders of Thought has commended the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the August 15 Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, for accepting the outcome of the poll, saying his decision helped to douse tension and restore peace in the state.

The group, led by an APC chieftain, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, also congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election and commended his decision to support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement issued by its National Secretary, Bayo Aina, in Ado Ekiti on Friday, the group disclosed that it had constituted a fact-finding and reconciliation committee to review the state of the APC across the South-West and make recommendations to the party leadership in the region.

The committee is chaired by a former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Asimiyu Alarape.

Aina said Oyebamiji’s decision to accept Adeleke’s victory had helped prevent further tension and prolonged legal disputes over the election.

“Oyebamiji’s acceptance of the victory of Adeleke has helped to douse the tension in Osun State and also assisted in restoring peace to the state.
