Indigenes and residents of Nkaramuche in Ihiagwa Community, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, have expressed appreciation to Governor Hope Uzodimma over the activation of constant electricity supply in the community through the Orashi Power Project.
The development has reportedly sparked excitement among residents, traders, micro-business owners and members of the Management, Staff and Students of Shekinah British International School, who described the improved power supply as a major boost to economic activities and community development.
Some residents who spoke to MUK TV said the availability of regular electricity would improve businesses, support livelihoods and enhance the general well-being of people in the area.
A phone accessories seller identified as Udo described the development as a welcome relief after years of inadequate electricity supply, saying residents were excited to finally experience more stable power.
Another resident and trader, Mr. Basil Edoziem, commended the state government and particularly thanked the Managing Director of Shekinah British International School, Dr. Obinna George-Smart Unegbu, for his efforts in advocating for improved electricity supply in the community.
He described Unegbu as a development-oriented individual who had consistently demonstrated concern for the welfare and advancement of the people.
Speaking on the development, Dr. Unegbu, popularly known as Aririerimba Ihiagwa, described the restoration of regular electricity as a “prayer answered.”
He thanked Governor Uzodimma for responding to the community’s concerns over electricity and expressed optimism that the administration would continue to address other infrastructural needs of the people.
Unegbu also referenced ongoing road improvements in the area, saying residents had previously appealed to the state government over the condition of roads and had since witnessed improvements.
He described Governor Uzodimma as a responsive and listening leader and pledged the continued support and cooperation of the people of Nkaramuche Ihiagwa towards the state government.
The Shekinah British International School management, staff and students, alongside residents of the community, expressed hope that the improved electricity supply would contribute to increased economic activity, better business operations and improved living conditions across the area.
