The All Progressives Congress, APC, and members of the organised private sector in Enugu State have commended Governor Peter Mbah over what they described as significant achievements recorded by his administration in the last three and a half years.
The commendation was made on Wednesday at the unveiling of the Compendium of Achievements of the Mbah Administration, held at the International Conference Centre, Enugu.
Speaking at the event, APC National Chairman, South, Ben Nwoye, said the achievements recorded by the administration within three years demonstrated what he described as the knowledge, intelligence and capacity required to transform the state.
Nwoye urged residents of Enugu State to carefully assess the administration’s performance ahead of the 2027 governorship election, arguing that the scale of development documented in the compendium justified allowing Mbah another term to consolidate the projects and reforms already initiated.
He also appealed to residents of Enugu North and Enugu West Senatorial Districts to support the continuation of the administration.
The APC chieftain argued that political succession in the state should respect the tradition of allowing governors to serve two terms.
He cited former governors Chimaroke Nnamani, Sullivan Chime and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who served two terms each, and said Mbah should similarly be allowed to complete eight years in office.
Nwoye also called on APC members and supporters to commence grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections and ensure that the administration’s achievements are effectively communicated to voters.
The Enugu State APC Chairman, Martin Chukwunweike, said the party would deploy the achievements documented in the compendium as a major campaign tool.
Chukwunweike said the performance of the Mbah administration had contributed to the party’s electoral successes and expressed confidence that the documented achievements would further strengthen the party’s chances in subsequent elections.
Speaking on behalf of the organised private sector in Enugu, the Chairman of COPEN Group, Ugo Chime, also commended the governor’s administration.
Chime described the work being undertaken by the government as “powerful, disruptive and innovative,” saying the private sector had earlier identified Mbah as one of its own before his entry into government.
He said the business community believed Mbah was brought into governance to apply private-sector experience and expertise to the administration of the state.
The unveiling of the compendium provided a platform for political stakeholders and representatives of the business community to assess and highlight the projects, reforms and initiatives attributed to the Mbah administration ahead of the 2027 political season.
