Swiss sportswear brand On has officially entered the football market, appointing French football legend Thierry Henry as its Director of Football and signing Kylian Mbappé as its global ambassador.
Henry, the 1998 World Cup winner and former Arsenal star, has been working behind the scenes with On since late 2025, helping shape the company’s football strategy, product development and athlete relationships.
Mbappé, meanwhile, becomes the face of On’s football push, ending his long-standing partnership with Nike. He will also collaborate with On on the development and testing of its football boots and apparel.
On plans to launch its first football boots in 2027, marking the brand’s expansion from its established running and tennis business into football. The company is also adapting its LightSpray technology for football products.
The announcement brings two generations of French football together as On prepares to challenge established football sportswear giants with Henry overseeing its football strategy and Mbappé serving as its headline global athlete.
