Halima Dangote, daughter of Africa’s richest businessman, Aliko Dangote, has opened up about the low-key lifestyle she and her sisters maintain despite their billionaire family background.

Halima revealed that she and her siblings are not interested in flaunting their wealth, achievements or family name, saying they would rather let their results speak for themselves.

Speaking about their upbringing and how they relate with other children from wealthy families, including the children of their father’s friends, Halima said the three sisters were not raised to be spoilt.

“We’re not spoilt. Anytime we meet with our co-peers, like the kids of our dad’s friends or people that were… We don’t… I mean, everyone has his own job,” she said.

According to her, she and her sisters have always been reserved about their identities and personal achievements, even though increasing public recognition has made it harder for them to remain anonymous.

“We are more… we are quiet in the sense that we don’t say who we are. It’s, I don’t know if it’s fortunate or unfortunate. Now people recognize us, but it was easier when we were not recognized, you know, our results spoke for itself,” she added.

Halima also explained that unlike some people who openly embrace social media fame and public attention, she and her sisters are not particularly interested in putting their private lives or possessions on display.

“I mean, some people are really comfortable with the social media, with being known, with being expressive. I don’t think we are. All three of us, we’re not expressive of what we have or what we own or what we’re doing,” she said.

Rather than seeking popularity or validation online, Halima said the sisters prefer to let their business achievements do the talking.

She pointed to the performance, sales and growth of their businesses as evidence of their progress, stressing that figures ultimately provide a clearer picture than public appearances.

“I think, like Fatima and Maya said, the results are just the ones speaking for itself: the sales of this business, the profit of this, our growth, us growing to 100 billion dollars,” Halima said.

“We are all in those key positions, and I mean, numbers don’t lie. So that’s it” she added.
