The Abia United Farmers and Widows Association has declared its support for Hon. Emeka Atuma, popularly known as Kabila, in his bid to represent Abia Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections.
The association made its position known during an outreach programme held in Umuahia, where more than 300 farmers and widows from across Abia Central gathered for political mobilisation and engagement.
Speaking at the event, the State Coordinator of the association, Lady Precious Uwaoma (Onyeuwaoma), said the gathering was organised to sensitise members and stakeholders on the association’s decision to support Atuma, alongside Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji for the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Uwaoma said the turnout reflected members’ interest in participating in the political process, adding that the number of participants exceeded the organisers’ expectations.
She said the association would support candidates based on what its members consider to be their capacity to contribute to the welfare and livelihoods of the people.
According to her, Atuma’s previous service as a member of the House of Representatives was among the factors considered by the association in backing his senatorial bid.
She expressed the association’s expectation that Atuma would continue to address issues affecting constituents if elected to the Senate.
Uwaoma also pledged the association’s mobilisation support for Atuma, Chinedum Orji and other APC candidates who recognise and support the activities of the organisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
The association’s position adds to ongoing political mobilisation and endorsements across Abia Central ahead of the 2027 general elections. Recent reports have also documented support for Atuma from political and community groups in parts of the senatorial district.
Representatives of the Emeka Atuma campaign council were also present at the Umuahia outreach programme.
