Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has elicited mixed reactions online after declaring that any man who says he would not die for his woman is a “fool.”

The rapper made the statement during an episode of the In Motion Podcast on YouTube, where he discussed relationships, marriage, his Christian beliefs and the perception that he is a misogynist.

Speaking about his views on love and marriage, Odumodublvck said, “Any man wey talk say he no fit die for him woman na fool!”

Explaining his position from a Christian perspective, he said, “Because me now, I’m a Christian. See, this is my power. And Jesus said, Christ said we should love our wife like Christ loved the church. And what did Christ do for the church? He died for the church.”

The rapper also said he expected to die before his wife because she is younger than him.

“I’m probably going to die before my wife, in Jesus’ name. Amen… Why should my wife die before me? When she’s younger than me? Doesn’t make any sense. I should die before my wife,” he said.

According to him, his wife would take responsibility for their children and continue whatever he had started after his death.

“And when I die, it’s my wife that will now take everything and distribute to my children so there will not be wahala. So it’s my wife that will continue whatever it is that I started,” he said.

Odumodublvck attributed his attitude towards women and money to the influence of his mother, whom he described as a generous person.

“Like me now, my mom is a cheerful giver. If you give me one million Naira now, before you know it, I’ve sent it to ten people. I don’t know how to hold money. So my girlfriend will be holding my money for me,” he said.

Using chess as an analogy, the rapper stressed the importance he places on women in relationships.

“So if you don’t understand the concept of loving a woman and putting a woman where a woman is meant to be. Like if you look at chess, the strongest piece on the board is the queen,” he said.

“If the queen goes, just forget that game. Forget the game. The king is exposed,” he added.

The rapper also addressed the perception that he is a misogynist, saying the description is unfair.

“They think I’m a misogynist,” he said.

Asked whether the perception bothered him, Odumodublvck replied, “It bothers me a lot. A whole lot. Because it’s such an unfair thing to say.”

He then questioned whether a man who is willing to die for his partner could reasonably be described as a misogynist.

“Okay, now I want to die for my girlfriend. Will a misogynist die for his woman?” he asked.

The comments have since generated reactions on social media, with discussions centred on the rapper’s views about love, marriage, gender roles and sacrifice.
