Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his admiration for Lionel Messi, praising the Argentine star for his years of service to his country and the legacy he has created on the international stage.
Ronaldo shared the heartfelt message while reacting to Messi, recognising the commitment and achievements of his long-time football rival with Argentina.
“Leo, so many years defending your country and a story that will live on forever. You have all my respect for everything you’ve achieved with Argentina. A hug,” Ronaldo said.
The message comes as another display of the respect that exists between Ronaldo and Messi, despite their historic rivalry that has defined an era of world football.
Over the years, both players have faced enormous expectations while representing their respective countries. Messi, in particular, endured years of disappointment with Argentina before eventually achieving major success with the national team.
