The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Dr Chima Desmond Anyaso, has urged youths to reject electoral violence and resist any attempt to manipulate the electoral process.
Anyaso made the call on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in Uzuakoli, where he signed a development pact with the people of Bende Local Government Area and presented his proposed agenda to stakeholders, party leaders and residents.
Addressing stakeholders from the 13 wards of the constituency, including traditional rulers, youths, pressure groups and civil society representatives, Anyaso warned that no political ambition was worth the loss of lives or the destruction of young people’s futures.
He urged youths not to allow themselves to be used to perpetrate violence during the 2027 elections and encouraged voters to protect their right to freely choose their representatives.
Anyaso described the pact as a commitment to the development of Bende, saying it was designed to reflect the needs and concerns of communities across the constituency.
He also called on voters to scrutinise the records, credentials and capacity of candidates seeking elective positions, arguing that elected representatives should be judged by their ability to deliver measurable results.
The Labour Party candidate said his proposed agenda would focus on attracting quality roads, healthcare facilities and schools to Bende, while supporting skills acquisition and other opportunities for youths and women.
He further criticised what he described as inadequate representation and poor infrastructure in the constituency, promising to pursue development interventions if elected to the House of Representatives.
As political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, Anyaso’s engagement forms part of his campaign activities and proposed development agenda for Bende Federal Constituency.
