Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone has openly admitted to nepotism after his daughter, Scarlet Rose Stallone, secured an expanded role in the fourth season of Tulsa King.

Responding to criticism of parents using their influence to advance their children’s careers, the 80-year-old actor defended his decision, arguing that helping children gain opportunities is part of being a parent.

“Of course it’s nepotism, you idiot. That’s why we’re parents. We want the best for our children. So obviously, we let them have every advantage,” Stallone said in an interview with USA Today.

Scarlet, 24, plays Spencer in the Paramount+ crime drama, which stars her father as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a former New York mobster building a criminal empire in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her character takes on a bigger role in Season 4, becoming more involved in the family’s criminal operation.

However, Stallone acknowledged that family connections can only open doors, stressing that his daughter must prove herself to maintain her position.

“Can they maintain that level of excellence? That’s out of our hands,” he said.

His comments have reignited debate over nepotism in Hollywood, with questions about whether celebrity connections unfairly advantage the children of established stars over aspiring actors without similar access.

While Stallone views giving his children opportunities as a parental responsibility, the debate continues over where parental support ends and unfair professional advantage begins.
