Former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has cautioned supporters of Peter Obi, popularly known as Obidients, against attacking him over his recent comments about the former Anambra State governor.

Baba-Ahmed issued the warning during an interview with Symfoni TV, where he accused Obi’s supporters of constantly targeting him whenever he expresses opinions about their political leader.

He maintained that he would not be intimidated by the criticism, adding that he had more damaging information to disclose if the attacks continued.

The former senator reportedly said that supporters were attacking him because he had spoken what he considered the truth about Obi.

The latest disagreement follows Baba-Ahmed’s criticism of Obi’s political moves and his position on opposition alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His remarks have reportedly angered sections of the Obidient movement, with some supporters accusing him of turning against his former running mate and questioning his political loyalty.

However, Baba-Ahmed insisted that he remains a committed member of the Labour Party and would not allow criticism from Obi’s supporters to prevent him from expressing his views.

The development has further exposed tensions between the former running mates and sections of the support base that backed their joint presidential campaign under the Labour Party in the 2023 general election.
