Dr Nelson Omenugha, Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on Youth Reformation, has commended the governor for approving the selection, placement and training of the third batch of beneficiaries under the state’s One Youth, Two Skills (1Youth2Skills) Entrepreneurship Programme.
Omenugha described the approval as a demonstration of the state government’s continued commitment to youth empowerment, human capital development and economic growth.
He praised the administration for sustaining and expanding the initiative, which he said was designed to equip young people with practical skills and support them in building sustainable businesses.
According to Omenugha, more than 13,000 youths have been trained across over 60 skill areas in the first two batches, while more than 5,000 beneficiaries have reportedly attained millionaire status and created opportunities for others.
He noted that the programme goes beyond skills acquisition, as it seeks to develop entrepreneurs, promote wealth creation, strengthen families and encourage young people to contribute to Anambra State’s economy.
Omenugha further stated that the initiative aligns with the broader Anambra Youth Reformation Programme and the administration’s vision of building a generation of self reliant, innovative and productive young people.
He encouraged youths across the state to take advantage of the third batch, adding that the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports would announce the eligibility requirements and application process in due course.
The governor’s aide urged young people not to limit themselves to seeking employment opportunities but to develop the capacity to create opportunities through entrepreneurship and productive ventures.
The One Youth, Two Skills programme is one of the Anambra State Government’s youth development initiatives aimed at equipping young people with vocational and entrepreneurial skills.
