Veteran Nollywood star, Patrick Doyle, doesn’t mince words when it comes to the popular religious catchphrase “What God cannot do doesn’t exist.”

In a candid critique, Doyle labeled the slogan as “silly,” cautioning against its usage and warning of its potential to dilute profound scriptures.

Taking to his Facebook account, the actor expressed dismay over the persistence of the slogan despite its logical fallacy, urging Christians to avoid spreading false teachings through catchy phrases.

“Doyle lamented, “Some people are just too obstinate to admit their folly. Even after that slogan ‘What God cannot do doesn’t exist’ has been proven to be silly, they still continue to chant it.”

He further cautioned against slogans like “Heaven helps those who help themselves,” warning of their potential to undermine the core doctrine of faith.

MUK TV reports that the slogan was popularized by Abia-born Nigerian Pentecostal Pastor, Jerry Eze, the founder of Streams of Joy International, who often declares it at his New Season Prophetic Prayers Declaration (NSPPD), a digital morning prayer meeting that starts at 7 a.m.

The slogan has garnered widespread adoption among Christians, but Doyle’s critique challenges its theological validity.
