Following the swift impeachment of Philip Shaibu, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has named Omobayo Godwin as his new deputy, marking a fresh chapter in the state’s executive council.
The inauguration of Omobayo is scheduled for today at the Edo State Government House in Benin City, where friends and well-wishers have already gathered to witness the historic event.
With a background in engineering and past involvement in politics as the Labour Party’s House of Representatives candidate in 2023 for the Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency, Omobayo is expected to bring his wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his new role.
