The ongoing online feud between musical heavyweights Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, and David Adedeji, a.k.a Davido, escalated further on Monday night, as the two stars exchanged more barbs on social media.
The feud ignited when Wizkid threw shade at Davido by sharing a leaked video of him allegedly pleading with a female associate.
The Grammy award-winning singer had dismissed renowned music producer and label owner, Don Jazzy, as merely an ‘influencer’, sparking uproar on social media.
In retaliation, Davido fired back with a series of cryptic tweets believed to be aimed at Wizkid. One of his tweets, “Dem no know your Gbedu,” seemed to be a direct response to Wizkid’s announcement of his upcoming Morayo album.
Not stopping there, Davido posted a video of his wife, Chioma Adeleke, seemingly dismissing the distractions.
Unfazed, Wizkid responded with a dig, asserting his superiority in music, followed by a dismissive tweet implying Davido’s delusion.
The exchange intensified as Davido countered, suggesting animosity between the two Afrobeat stars.
The rift between the two artists is surprising to many, especially considering their recent friendly encounter in a Lagos nightclub.
Prior to this, Wizkid had even announced plans for a joint tour with Davido in 2023 after the release of his fifth studio album, ‘More Love, Less Ego (MLLE)’.
Despite being recognized as two of Nigeria’s greatest musical exports, their relationship has often been marked by tension and rivalry.
