Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, has announced an extraordinary plan to solemnize the marriage of 100 female orphans tragically orphaned by banditry onslaughts in Mariga Local Government Area.

In an exclusive disclosure to reporters in Minna, the state capital, Speaker Sarkindaji unveiled this unprecedented initiative aimed at offering solace and stability to those who have endured profound loss, as reported by The Punch.

With unwavering commitment, the Speaker pledged to cover all bridal dowries and has meticulously arranged every detail for the grand matrimonial event.

Selecting the brides-to-be from a pool of 170 deserving candidates, Sarkindaji underscored the meticulous care taken in ensuring the well-being and future happiness of these young women, refraining from disclosing specific age ranges.

Describing the initiative as an integral component of his constituency empowerment endeavor, Sarkindaji stressed its noble purpose in mitigating the plight of the marginalized and underprivileged.

According to The Punch,  the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, and the Emir of Kontagora, Alhaji Mohammed Barau, would serve as guardians to the female orphans during the mass marriage ceremony.

The Kano State Commander General of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, is expected to attend the event, slated for May 24 at Bangi, the headquarters of Mariga Local Government Area.
