Hon. Chief Ebisike Chimaobi Iheanyichukwu, former representative for Aba North and South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Labour Party (LP).
Chief Ebisike announced his decision through an official statement, following a thorough evaluation of the current administration under Abia State Governor, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR), as reported by Magic FM, Aba.
He commended Governor Otti for his dedication to initiatives benefiting the masses and his commitment to completing projects initiated by previous administrations, emphasizing his belief in the continuity of governance.
“I have tendered my letter of resignation to the ward chairman of PDP Ward 3, Aba North LGA,” declared Ebisike.
“After carefully observing Governor Otti’s administration and his alignment with my vision and intentions for our people, I am convinced beyond every reasonable doubt that collaborating with him is the best path forward for the development of Aba North and South Federal Constituency and Abia State at large,” he added
Chief Ebisike, who previously served as a commissioner in the immediate past administration of former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, expressed regret for any inconvenience his departure may cause the PDP.
He underscored that his decision was driven by a strong conviction to serve his constituents better through the Labour Party.
“Long live Abia State, long live Aba Federal Constituency,” concluded Chief Ebisike, indicating that the former lawmaker could be nursing the ambition to return to the lower legislative chamber in Abuja.
