President Bola Tinubu has savoured the working relationship between his government and the 10th national assembly, describing it as the “best of partners.”

In a statement by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale on Tuesday, Tinubu praised the assembly’s leadership for their unwavering support, as reported by TheCable.

“It is a great pride for me to have the best of partners in the National Assembly. We have to drill down and be all-inclusive in our bid to satisfy our people. It is daunting, but we cannot run away from the fact that this country must survive the hardship,” Tinubu said.

Despite criticism from some quarters labeling the  assembly under the chairmanship of Senate President Godswill Akpabio as a rubber stamp, especially after the swift passage of the bill to reintroduce the old national anthem, Tinubu has maintained a friendly executive-legislative relationship.

MUK TV reports that Tinubu, who was himself a lawmaker, sandwiched by other influential former legislators, including his wife Remi and Femi Gbajabiamila, his Chief of Staff and the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, have deployed their lobbying acumen to checkmate the excesses of the legislative arm of the government right from the onset.

Acknowledging the nation’s struggles, the President assured Nigerians of his commitment to improvement.
