The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted cocaine hidden in the soles of shoes destined for Europe.
In a separate operation, the anti-narcotic agency also confiscated tramadol pills that were found concealed in custard containers .
The Punch reports that Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, shared videos of the seized contraband on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.
In the posts, Babafemi cautioned travelers to be wary of accepting luggage or items from others for delivery, as they might unknowingly be carrying illegal substances.
He wrote, “First video reveals moment #ndlea_nigeria officers discovered parcels of cocaine in soles of shoes going to Europe while the second one shows how tramadol pills hidden in custard containers were uncovered.
“Another reason why you must be careful with any bag given to you to deliver.”
